Sandra Porter - Teacher

As a professional and very accomplished singer and with many years of singing teaching, coaching and performing experience, Sandra has gained an excellent reputation as a teacher. She brings a wealth of knowledge of recital repertoire, musical theatre, platform presentation, voice projection for actors and dancers, and of course opera. Sandra's own teacher and mentor, Dame Felicity Palmer has regularly been sending her students and asking her to assist in teaching. Additionally, she has recently started working with the spoken voice, helping performers use and project their voices more effectively and safely.

Sandra was based in Glasgow for ten years and during that time was a visiting lecturer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she gave lectures on vocal style and performance and took seminars with smaller groups of students. She regularly adjudicated at the Edinburgh Competitive Festival and was invited to adjudicate at the RSAMD.

Her recent students include graduates of RADA, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RSAMD), Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and the Opera-Studio du Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, who travel from as far afield as Continental Europe as well as from all parts of the UK.
